Thoughts on Writing New Beginnings...
In what you could call the ‘chorus’ of New Beginnings, there is a little offset trick done. The melody is a three-bar phrase, while the harmony is a four-bar phrase. Thus, it takes 14 bars for the end of the melody phrase to coincide with the end of the harmonic phrase, at which point the melody has been repeated 4 times and the harmony 3 times.
